Studying and Working in the Wyeth Lab

Students can be a part of the lab in several ways :

  • volunteers – for those curious about a first try at research
  • Directed Studies projects – course credit for doing research
  • summer research assistants – get paid to do research
  • Honours degree – for undergraduates who want to step right into research
  • Masters degree – in depth graduate-level research
  • PhD degree – available via co-supervision with faculty at other universities

There are many potential student projects:

  • field or lab behaviour of invertebrates (including underwater with SCUBA)
  • computer-based video analysis of behaviours
  • neurobiology of slugs and snails
  • microscopy exploring nervous system anatomy
  • mathematical modeling of behaviour
  • studies of marine biofouling and antifouling
